Hello and welcome to episode 003 of the Change:Maker Collective with Solomon Mehta-Slade and myself Joey Clifton.
If you missed this Live we welcome you to watch our third episode in which we explore the urgency of this work - and the strong desire to always do more, and how taking a pause to reflect and be intentional can create a more considered and pragmatic approach to being impactful. Specifically, you’ll find us riffing around:
That when there is so many problems to solve - that it’s easy to slip into doing more more more…
Recognising the scarcity and urgency in ourselves, and pausing to reflect on what we’re doing already, and what capacity we have to do more.
That being realistic with any spare capacity we have can reduce overwhelm, overcommitment, and burnout.
Giving ourselves permission to work to our strengths, curate and seek environments that help us to thrive, and allowing joy into this work, are powerful ways to take care of ourselves, generate energy, and be more impactful.
Also, I referenced the Climate Venn by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson which you can find here. Do check Ayana’s brilliant work out.
Big thanks to everyone who joined us. If you’d like to know more about the Change:Maker Collective - a virtual home for purpose-led leaders to feel better resourced, elevate their impact, and be supported by a thriving peer-based community - you can find out more here.
And see you again next Wednesday where hopefully we will (again) by complete accident still be wearing the same colour tops.
Have a great week until then, thanks for reading.
Joey & Sol.
